RAWLINGS WEEK 35 NCSA DI TOP 20

The 2024-2025 NCSA DI Season is coming to a close.  Only one BIG tournament left to play…The 2025 NCSA DI World Series!  Regionals are in the books and they played a big part in the shakeup of the Rawlings Week 35 NCSA DI Top 20.

Your reigning National Champions, Air Force, crack into the Top 3 just behind familiar faces, Michigan at #1 and Illinois at #2.  We did see 4 new teams join the dance floor, which also means, 4 teams dropped out.  St. Bonaventure, Ohio, Oregon and TCNJ all join the Top 20 after great performances at Regionals and qualifying for the NCSA DI World Series.  The Carolina schools, South Carolina and North Carolina make HUGE jumps after winning their respective Regional Tournaments.  Lots of movement up and down, so make sure to check where you favorite team lands.

Only one more Rawlings Top 20 Poll left, and that is the most important one.  As was said in the Preseason Poll Post, your defending National Champions, Air Force put it, “Rankings do not matter until the final game of the National Tournament.” A very wise and true statement!  Who will be atop these rankings in 2 weeks?  All we know is that they will be the 2025 NCSA DI National Champions.

Next Poll Released: 5/22/25

NCSA DI REGIONALS: DAY 1

Huge shoutout to all the Regional Directors that put on a show today!  Mother Nature is an absolute STUD!  She’s undefeated and threw a lot of curveballs our way today, but our Regionals Directors, Field Crews, Umpires and Teams we’re up to the task!

While the North Atlantic Regional did not get played today, it will be picked up tomorrow, bright and early at 9am!  Fields look great and weather should cooperate!  We had a delayed start in the New England, but are almost on schedule there heading into tomorrow and we also have a Regional Champion after Day 1.  Our defending National Champs, Air Force were forced to play their Championship Game today due to inclement weather forecasted through the night and into tomorrow in the Mid-America Region.  They defeated their conference rival Colorado in the Championship Game.  That said, Colorado also punched their ticket to the World Series.

Since we on that note, we also want to congratulate the following teams for qualifying for the NCSA DI World Series: University of Illinois, Ohio University, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, North Carolina State University, Sacred Heart University, University of California – Davis, University of Oregon, University of South Carolina and Florida State University.  They’ve all punched their tickets to the World Series.  Four spots still up for grabs and Regional Championships still to play for.  Regional Championship Sunday starts bright and early!

RAWLINGS WEEK 33 NCSA DI TOP 20

The 2024-2025 NCSA DI Regular Season is in the books!  Congratulations to all the teams on a great season.  While we are down to our final 32, we want to thank all the teams that participated this year.  We are so proud of our member teams and so excited for what’s in store for the 2025-2026 season.

That being said, we still have a lot of business to attend to this year.  We are down to our final 32 teams who qualified for their respective Regional Tournaments.  After this weekend, we’ll be down to our final 16 that will qualify for the 2025 NCSA Division I World Series.  Those 16 teams will have a a blank slate and an equal opportunity to raise the National Championship Trophy above their head.

As it stands now, your #1 Team in the Country is no surprise.  The University of Michigan, sporting a 20-1 (14-1 conference) record is the top dog heading into Regionals, but will they stay there?  Will they hoist the National Championship Trophy high in the air?  We’ll find out soon.  Lots of movement, up and down in this weeks Top 20 Poll and we’ll have another poll released prior to the World Series after Regionals are completed.  So only two more polls left and as we said at the start of the season, it’s not where you start, but where you finish.  Who will finish atop Rawlings Top 20 Poll?  I know we’re excited to find out.

Check out the Rawlings Week 33 NCSA DI Top 20 Poll.

Next Pool Released: 5/8/25
