REGIONALS DAY 1!

As we all know, mother nature remains undefeated and she played a part in Day 1 at the NCSA Regional Tournaments.  Both the New England Region and North Atlantic Region moved to a single elimination format and the Mid-Atlantic and South Atlantic had to play their respective tournaments in 1 day.  The Great Lakes and Great American Regionals had to halt their games due to rain but will pick up tomorrow.  Because of this 8 teams have officially punched their ticket to the 2023 NCSA World Series and 4 more have secured spots.

Sacred Heart University wins the North Atlantic Regional Tournament after defeating Penn State 6-1.  With Penn State being the runner-ups, they also move onto the NCSA World Series.  Maine also wins the New England Region and qualifies for the 2023 NCSA World Series after they defeated UConn in the Championship Game 7-6.  UConn also punches their ticket as the New England Runner up.  Virginia Tech is one step closer to defending their championship after they defeated JMU in the Mid-Atlantic Championship Game 9-1.  The Dukes from JMU as runner-ups are also Georgia bound.  Clemson defeats Georgia 8-5 in the South Atlantic Championship to move onto the World Series, while the Bulldogs also qualify for the World Series as the runner-ups.

Also, in the Pacific Region, the championship game is decided with both UC-Davis and Oregon vying for the championship but both securing spots in the World Series.  Additionally, in the Mid-America, Iowa and Air Force have secured spots at the NCSA World Series but who will win the region and who will finish runner-up is still to be decided.
