RAWLINGS WEEK 9 NCSA DI TOP 20

After losing 2 of 3 to Illinois State, your previous #1, the University of Illinois falls to #5 in the Rawlings Week 9 NCSA DI Top 20.  A familiar name now sits atop the rankings.  The University of Iowa claims the top stop by edging out the University of Wisconsin by 1 point.

The U.S. Air Force Academy comes in at #3 with 6 first place votes, while our defending National Champions, Virginia Tech  fall a spot to #4.  As mentioned earlier, the Fighting Illini round out the Top 5.  The team that help drop Illinois 4 spots, Illinois State, makes their first appearance in the Top 20 coming in at #17 after the huge confernece series win!

NEW TEAM!

The NCSA is happy to announce Colby-Sawyer College to Division II for the 2023-24 season!  Colby-Sawyer College will be placed in District I North the teams they will compete against are Rhode Island, RPI, UMass-Lowell, Merrimack and Stonehill. The NCSA is thrilled to have Colby-Sawyer College in the NCSA Division II this season!

NEED HELP SECURING UMPIRES?

The NCSA has partnered with Officials Unlimited (OU) to help provide their services to all NCSA member teams.  OU has been involved directly with the CollClubSports and the NCSA for numerous years now, as they have helped assign umpires for many NCSA events.  Throughout that time OU has made contact with hundreds of officials all around the country.  If you’re in need of assistance when securing umpires in your area please don’t hesitate to reach out to Mike Lancaster with OU.  Contact information below!

RAWLINGS WEEK 7 NCSA TOP 20

A new #1 team in the country!  After an unblemished start at 6-0 in confernece play and 9-0 overall, the Fighting Illini from the University of Illinois are now sitting atop the Rawlings Week 7 NCSA Top 20!

Coming in only 3 points behind Illinois is former #1 Iowa followed by another former #1 and current B2B National Champion, Virginia Tech.  Air Force jumps 4 spots and Wisconsin two spots to round out the Top 5 this week.

Michigan makes a big jump from #13 all the way to #6 and Georgia takes a fall from #9 to #14.  St. Bonaventure makes their first appearance in the Top 20 at #20 after an impressive start (9-0, 9-0).  Click the link to see where your team lands.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Cal State Fullerton and Cal Miramar were placed on probation for failure to pay their performance bond on time.

Bellarmine University and Baylor University Club Softball Teams have been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2023-2024 NCSA DI Season.  They violated NCSA Rule 19.01.0.  They forfeited  3 conference games to Cincinnati and Arkansas State respectively during Week 6 of the NCSA Season.

Longwood University has been placed on probation for violation of NCSA Rules 5.02.1 and 5.02.2.  They played an NCSA Conference Series against Appalachian State with zero players on their eligible roster. They also played a player that was determined to be academically ineligible.

RAWLINGS WEEK 5 NCSA DI TOP 20

Well no change atop the Rawlings Week 5 NCSA DI Top 20 this week.  Iowa maintains their #1 status with Virginia Tech following them at #2.

Big news being Clemson falling from #3 to #11 after being upset by South Carolina in a confernece series matchup.  South Carolina didn’t crack the top 20 this week, but earned some respect and come in just outside the top 20 receiving 34 points (#22).

Illinois made a jump up to #3 after a solid performance at the Indy Invitational and Ohio State makes their first appearance in the Top 20.  Check out the rest of the Rawlings Week 5 NCSA DI Top 20 to see if your favorite team made the cut.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

The University of New England Club Softball Teams have been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2023-2024 NCSA DI Season.  They violated NCSA Rule 19.01.0.  They forfeited  3 conference games to Northeastern during Week 3 of the NCSA Season.

NEW TEAM!

The NCSA is happy to announce The University of Tennesse Chattanooga to Division II for the 2023-24 season!  The University of Tennesse Chattanooga will be placed in District III the teams they will compete against are North Georgia, West Georgia, UNC-G, and Elon. The NCSA is thrilled to have The University of Tennesse Chattanooga in the NCSA Division II this season!

RAWLINGS WEEK 3 NCSA TOP 20

A NEW #1 IN THE NCSA!  After edging Virginia Tech by 1 point, the University of Iowa claims the top spot in the Rawlings Week 3 NCSA Top 20.  Virginia Tech still has a lot of respect from the voters coming in with 10 first place votes compared to Iowa’s 5, but the early season conference loss to James Madison dropped the Hokies from #1 to #2.

Clemson, Michigan State and Oregon round out the Top 5 with Michigan State, Air Force and Sacred Heart all receiving 1st place votes.

The season is just getting started, so plenty more shakeups to come.  Check out the rest of the Top 20 to see if your team made the cut.
