RAWLINGS MARCH NCSA TOP 20

No change at the top the March edition of the Rawlings NCSA Top 20 with the Hokies sitting atop this months rankings, once again.  In fact, not much change from last months Top 20 with the Top 7 remaining in their spots.

With the meat of the season coming up, the rankings are sure to change, so be sure to check out this months and stay tuned for future releases of the Rawlings NCSA Top 20.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

The University of North Georgia (UNG) and University of Central Florida (UCF) Club Softball Teams have been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2022-2023 NCSA Season.  Both UNG and UCF violated NCSA Rule 19.01.0.  They forfeited 3 conference games to Georgia and Florida State respectively during Week 23 of the NCSA Season.

PLAYER REMOVAL PERIOD: 2/21-2/28

Per the Official NCSA Rulebook, NCSA Teams are permitted to remove up to 8 players from their roster for any reason during the roster removal period.  The week long removal period starts on February 21st and concludes on February 28th.

In order for teams to remove players from their roster, they MUST submit a signed document from their club sports director or faculty advisor along with two team officers detailing which players they wish to remove from their roster.

This needs completed before the calendar switches to March 1st.

Another reminder is the NCSA Roster Freeze is April 1st.  After this date, no more players can be added to the roster.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

San Diego State University (SDSU) Club Softball has been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2022-2023 NCSA Season.  SDSU violated NCSA Rule 19.01.0.  They forfeited 3 conference games to Grand Canyon University during Week 21 of the NCSA Season.

23/24 NCSA DII NEW TEAMS!

With the EXTRA, EXTRA Early Registration Discount ending today, three more new teams took advantage of the new team registration fee savings and officially joined NCSA Division II for the 2023-2024 Season.  The NCSA is excited to welcome the University of West Georgia, University of Villanova and University of Toledo.

West Georgia, Villanova and Toledo now join Salisbury and UNC-Greensboro as the first 5 NCSA Division II Programs!

If your program is looking to join the NCSA for 2023-2024, make sure to take advantage of the EXTRA Early Registration Discount going on now through March 3rd!

RAWLINGS FEBRUARY NCSA TOP 20

Another Top 20 and once again, Virginia Tech holds onto the top spot earning 11 first place votes.  But, in other Top 20 news, Sacred Heart University-Red pushes past Michigan State and Wisconsin and settles themselves into the #2 spot while earning 2 first place votes themselves.  Air Force stays put in the 5th position with Michigan inching closer but just outside the Top 5 in the Rawlings February NCSA Top 20.

The spring season is upon us and there will be a lot more moving and shaking happening in the upcoming polls, so be sure to check back.

SALISBURY BECOMES FIRST NCSA D2 TEAM

In less than 24 hours after announcing the NCSA expanding to Division II for the 23/24 season, the first official NCSA DII Team is announced!  Salisbury University becomes the first NCSA DII Team after taking advantage of the early new team sign up period.

All new teams no matter the size of the school will start at the Division II level, if Division II is offered in their area.

NCSA OPENING D2 FOR 23/24 SEASON

After many years of continual growth, the NCSA is thrilled to announce that Division II will open for the 23/24 season.

NCSA EXTENDS 3-YEARS WITH COLUMBUS, GA

In addition to the upcoming 2023 NCSA World Series, Columbus Georgia and South Commons Softball Complex will remain host for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 NCSA World Series after a 3-year extension was signed.
